Larry and Linda Depue
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6,7 Dear friends and partners, Greetings from Santa Cruz. We are back in the city after a month of hard work at home. We are so thankful for a cool reprieve from the hot, windy weather that we usually experience this time of the year in Santa Cruz. Yesterday it actually rained a little bit helping to clear the yearly smoke cloud from the air. While we were home my language helper and I were able to finish our part of the comprehension check of the Gospel of John and we finished our part of revising the Simba hymn book! Larry did a lot of the "foot work" for the upcoming Bible conference that will be held the end of this month. That meant riding his motorcycle to isolated Simba communities leaving written invitations and lining up Simba speakers. The roads are very rough and dusty this time of year. He fell twice on one of his trips...no serious injuries, just a scraped shin! The Simba Bible conference will be held in Totorenda this year, instead of Taperillas. The change in location means more work for us but it gives another group of believers an opportunity to work together to host the conference. Plus, it gives more people in that area of the country the opportunity to hear the Gospel and good solid Bible teaching in their own language. The believers in Totorenda are very willing to be hosts but a circumstance is challenging their faith. The wife of the Bolivian missionary who works with them went home to be with the Lord very unexpectedly. The believers are very sad and wonder how they are going to handle all the responsibility. Pray for them, the brother whose wife died, and for us as we work together to continue with the conference. The conference dates are September 29, 30, October 1 and 2. Bill, Felix, Arturo, and Julio are all planning to teach in the Simba language. We are working hard (and praying!) that the revised hymn books will be ready for distribution by the end of the month. Some of you have been praying about our bank cards. The bank has issued us three new debit cards over the course of several months and when they arrived here they would not work. The card company insisted they were unblocked and the bank insisted they were unblocked but we could not access our funds. We struggled with this problem since May! The mission loaned us money until we could access our funds. Every time we were in the city we spent a lot of time trying to solve this problem. It certainly added to our stress and frustration level! PTL, since Friday our bank cards finally work! The bank forgot to put a "travel alert" on them allowing us to use them outside the country. Isn't that crazy? What a lot of headache and expense for such a small oversight! But the Lord knows why while we just scratch our heads! Thank you for praying! We would also ask that you continue to pray for Michael. How we desire to see him in a right relationship with His Creator and Savior! Thank you so much for your generous support you send us each month. We so appreciate your partnering with us. It is humbling to know that you and other folks are sacrificing so that we can continue to minister to the Simba people. We thank the Lord for such a privilege. gratefully in Him, Larry and Linda Depue

Please let us know what further information we may send to you to help you feel integrated with what He is doing here! Woody & Sue Lewis
Woody & Sue Lewis with Crossworld Ministries
Woody and Sue Lewis
(CrossWorld, France)
November 2010 already!
Our dear friends,
We’ve been back in France two and a half months though it
feels like six, at least! In fact, it really feels like we never left. Funny
how that works…
We’re so thankful to be back with Annie and Laurie and their
families…six “French” grandkids, but sad to be so far from Joelle (who lived a
couple blocks from us last year) and Elisabeth and her little family…our only
“American” granddaughter.
The big news around here and all over south Jersey is that
Joelle is engaged to be married to Jake Massincaud! We’re very happy for her,
for them! Yes, his last name IS French. Jake’s dad is French and his mom,
Canadian. He grew up in Alsace close to where Joelle lived from age twelve on.
He, also, went to Black Forest Academy and then Philadelphia Biblical University.
He’s been offered an accounting job in NJ starting in January. They are making
plans to tie that wonderful knot this summer!
Woody taught Hermeneutics and the Wisdom Books these last
three weeks at the Geneva Bible Institute. He loves the opportunity to interact
with these men and women who are so desirous to grow and serve God! The freshman
class numbers 30. The school graduates about 10 a year (after a 4 year
program). Most come for just one year of training and return to serve in their
churches.
Woody gets to
teach Hermeneutics again this week in a small Torchbearer’s Bible School here
in Grenoble. The following week he returns to GBI for the last week of
Hermeneutics this fall. Ask God to
use His Word powerfully to touch hearts and change lives.
When not teaching Bible classes, God seems to use Woody mostly
in one-on-one discipleship. One young man came for his lunch break today and
they studied the Word over a bowl of soup. Right now another man is learning
how to study the Bible for himself over a cup of coffee. Woody loves to serve
God’s truth to the next generation and see them “eat it up”! Because he has a
pastoral heart, God uses him to counsel these men as well with their struggles
and challenges.
I’m thankful, too, that God is helping me each day and
encouraging my heart. I am trying to resist doing things because I SHOULD do
them and ask Him to grow a desire in my heart to serve Him because I WANT to do
something for Him. Maybe some of you can relate to this. Whether you can or
can’t, I’d appreciate your prayers for me and I definitely want to thank you
who have been praying already! I don’t want to be duty-driven, but
desire-driven. I WANT to serve the Lord WITH GLADNESS!!
We were sorry to miss out on my parent’s 40th
anniversary celebration last week! We thank God for their faithfulness to Him
and His to them! If you care to hear/see their story, go to:
Merci!
Woody and Sue

Bob & Ruth Ann Moyer Ministry : Associate Director to the Fields
Home Church : Calvary Church of Souderton, PA
Joined SAM : 1964
Bob felt called to Missions in 1960 while working with R.G. LeTourneau Co. in Tournavista, Peru. He prepared for Missions at Columbia Bible College and later married Ruth Ann Rush, a nurse from PA. In 1965 they left for Colombia with baby Rhonda and began a 15 year ministry among Kogi Indians in the Sierra Nevada mountains. In 1980 the Moyer family, now with Jenny and Rod, moved to Santa Marta to take on the role of Field Director. They were instrumental in the development of the Esperanza Church and School. In 2001 it was determined to leave the country due to increasing violence and the Moyers returned to a ministry in the Home Office in Lake Worth, Florida. Today Bob is the Associate Director to the Fields, which entails much travel. He works directly with the Field Directors and leadership. Ruth Ann volunteers in the Home Office in the Mail Room. Dear Friends, Our last trip was to Soldotna, Alaska where we had a very special time with Rod and Michelle. We accompanied Michelle and the girls back to Alaska from VA and Rod joined us a few days later from Nairobi where he was asked to fill in for furloughing pilots for 7 weeks. Bob did some projects and we took a 2 day road trip to Whittier, Valdez (oil spill), Glenallen, Palmer, Anchorage and back home again. Beauty everywhere, glaciers, waterfalls and the 6 hour ferry ride spectacular. Here is SC we keep busy with hospitality, cooking for SAM events, I volunteer at the Mission 3 afternoons weekly and Bob continues contact with the Colombia Field. On Monday Sept. 5th we travel to Colombia for 2 weeks to visit our 5 resident missionaries, local ministries and prepare a new SAM apartment for missionaries coming to the Field. Jeff and Silvia Roddy with their 3 children plan to arrive on the 15th. We praise God for the visas to travel and they are doing last minute support raising and packing. That is a challenge these days with the strict, limited weight allowance. Would you please pray for us in time management: -trip to Wayuu to the north -trip to Valledupar (interior) to visit a new church we are encouraging...pastor Lucas Carrillos -visit pastor Andrés in Ciénaga -meetings with SAM folks -work on getting new apartment ready to live in There are lots of friends to see as well, plans for the future, preparation for a team Bob hosts in October, etc. We are excited to hear what God is doing there. We hear of increased attendance in the Esperanza church and some people confessing bitterness, University ministry growing... Thank you so much for your participation with us as we go. We depend on your prayers. Will report back on our return. Blessings, Bob and Ruth Ann

DAVE & RACHAEL POWELL
Dave & Rachael Powell Ministry: Leadership Development
Home Church: First Baptist Church, Okemos, MI
Joined SAM: 1981
David
and Rachael, members of First Baptist Church of Okemos, MI, joined
South America Mission in 1981 with the desire to work with an indigenous
population in South America. After spending several months in Colombia,
they were not granted a permanent visa and left the country with their
newborn son and many tears. SAM leadership then sent them to Peru.
Within a few months they realized that this was, indeed, the place God
wanted them to be, for they found a wonderful place for service among
the Ashaninca Indians, living in the small mountain town of Mazamari. In
1990 they relocated, with their three young children, to the interior
city of Pucallpa due to a terrorist threat on their lives, but continued
to prepare Ashaninca men and women to take over the work of the
Ashaninca Bible Institute. That institue was turned over to the
direction of the Ashaninca Church Association in 1995, with David
remaining in the capacity of advisor. David then served two terms as
Peru Field Director, and is now the director of the Night Bible
Institute in Pucallpa. He holds a position on the board of the United
Evangelical Church Association of Pucallpa and continues in an advisory
role to the Ashaninca Church Association. Rachael is the administrator
of SAM Academy where she teaches high school Bible. She also is
developing a ministry for continuing nursing education for nurses at the
regional hospital. Dave and Rachael Powell

Dear Friend,
11/12/2010
We are trusting that you and yours are enjoying this fall season! Isn't it wonderful that we have Heaven to look forward too! Even in challenging times as these He is still on the throne and we have been promised eternal life ahead of us, for those that know Him. What a privilege it has been, now in our 28th year, still taking the good news to the front lines of our ungodly school systems here in America. Now more than ever, before we hear the trumpet blow, let's partner with the Lord and get these teens names in the Lamb's Book of Life for His glory!
Rick, Mick and Brandon will be taking off this Saturday to visit two dedicated churches on Sunday, that have agreed to partner with us for a Pizza Blast outreach March ‘11. God led us to these churches earlier this summer through answered prayer and they have a passion to see God move in the hearts of the lost youth in Portage, IN. They have promoted the evening service with enthusiasm and believe they will have an overflow crowd! The Mayor is coming and the School Superintendent may be at this service as there are several more schools that need to be contracted for this event. Please join us and pray that hearts will be touched and lives changed this Sunday and that God will prepare the path ahead.
Then December 4, we will be going to Sundance, WY area schools as they have invited us back this year to present our "Attitude Check" program. We will be in 5 schools that are having issues with harassing and bullying behavior, peer pressure, drugs, alcohol and other behaviors that sometimes lead to suicide. More than ever these teens need Christ in their lives! The enemy is working overtime. A few weeks ago the host church for this event just suddenly backed out! Our Father is able and we are trusting Him to meet our expense needs and for counselors and servers for this outreach. Currently we are $8,200 shy of meeting our expenses (fuel, airfare, food, 200 Bibles, event food… for 450 students). This kind body of Christ, folks from past events in Spearfish, SD at Mountain Church, has offered once again to host the Wyoming outreach and we are grateful for their like-mindedness seeing new believers come to the Kingdom!
Should you want to be involved in helping us GO and share the Gospel in Wyoming cattle country, please send your donation via our web site below or you can mail it to: Rick and Mick Ministries, P.O. Box 88, Wilsonville, AL 35186 (note: Sundance, WY).
Also, we love and appreciate your faithful prayers. They are cherished, more than you know!
Because He said GO! Rick & Mick www.RickandMick.com

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Luke 10:27) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself."(Luke 10:27) All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
